I work at TNO .
My specialisms / hobbies are:

• Programming in Pascal and Delphi.
  I started programming at school in Pascal in 1983. During the years I tried many other languages (Basic, 6510 assembler on the Commodore 64; Simula, Modula, C++, Prolog), but none beats (Object) Pascal, and the wonderful Delphi IDE to work with (footnote).

  I've done many different things in programming: graphics; charts; mapping; maths and calculus; CGI programming; utilities; simulation; a little database stuff; diplomacy (the game).

• Then there was The Delphi Bug Lists. I maintained that site for several years.
• I made a component to create GIF files. It provides functionality to view and make GIF files, also animated ones. You can download it if you like. It works with Delphi 1, 2, 3 and 4; and it's freeware, with source code.
  
• Some subjects I am interested in, also as a programmer:
  • Simulations. Not games like Flight Simulators, but more: imitating reality to be able to study certain (physical) processes. Examples:
    
    • Atmospheric dispersion of (dangerous) substances
    • Traffic on roads; how do traffic jams start
    • Molecular movements; explaining 'macro-physical' phenomena
  • Display of information:
    • Digital maps
    • Time series; X vs Y relations; 3d: contour plots etcetera.
